Statoil is an integrated oil and gas company represented in 33 countries and engaged in exploration and production in 15 of these. The group’s head offi ce is in Stavanger, Norway. Multi application environment Statoil Scandinavia has selected high performance and durable PC:s which, if required, will be in duty 24 hours a day every day. 350 petrol trucks and about 100 other vehicles for airports and other distribution purposes petrol trucks will use advanced PC’s from JLT Mobile and EMCOMP. As it is vital that the distribution work can be made in a reliable way, the requirements include both ruggedness and a lot of computer power. By combining extensive communication and a set of advanced applications Scandinavian Statoil will achieve more efficient transport management. Efficiency for the truck drivers and excellent service for the petrol pumps and oil customers are the overall targets for Statoil. Using a standard PC platform facilitates simultaneous use of Statoils order handling applications and standard software for communication, GPS positioning, location and route guidance. Deliveries of petrol and oil can be measured online and cameras for secure backing and turning will be connected. |
