In industrial environments, oily, greasy fingers are frequently used to operate on a computer touch-screen. Spilled coffee or other liquids can end up on sensitive electronic devices even when users take great precautions. All these are reasons for rugged, sealed computer units like JLT's.
Off-the-shelf laptops and handhelds are not designed to withstand rough industrial environments where malignant stuff is present. Replacing low cost commercial computers cost time, efficiency and money. The old saying 'You get what you pay for' really applies!
Intact after torture JLT computers are designed and built using special materials to seal and protect sensitive electronics from ingress of moisture, dust and chemicals. When testing, the computer is exposed to a chemical solution for one hour in a high temperature (80°C). After all chemical tests, the computer is washed clean and to successfully pass the testing, it should look as it did before the test and must work in perfect order. The display screen and chassis must be in "new condition" without stains or damage.
No flammability Computers should never be the cause of fire, however a computer that is not designed with fire resistant features can be the "ignitor" that causes a fire. JLT computers will not be the ignition for fire, nor will they serve as good firewood. |
