Bodafors Trä AB produces 140 000 cubic meter sawed products per working shift. More than 60 years of experience in sawmilling industry has made Bodafors Trä able to fulfi l most requirements in the timber business fi eld. High production capacity has been the result of high technical skills for production and advanced use of IT. This also means that Bodafors all through the process works market and customer oriented.
WinSaw is Bodafors system for administration of customer orders, production, warehouse and invoicing. TruckSaw’s main tasks are to deliver and update information about price and volume contracts over time. The volume contracts are used in production planning but deliveries are triggered by weekly suborders and invoices are related to price contracts. Trucksaw produces loading orders to the forklift drivers promptly readable on the forklift PC. In order to solve logistic problems in the warehouse, Bodafors decided to equip their forklifts with computers and RFID units. One of the requirements from Bodafors was to get a graphical interface for interactive supervision of a number of the diff erent processes. Out of all computer alternatives, Bodafors selected JLT PC:s with 15” displays.
